Dear colleagues,
I hope you will find this message interesting. In May this year together with Europeana Foundation, Polish National Audiovisual Institute and IT University of Copenhagen we are organizing a series of hackathons under a common name Hack4Europe! 2012.

Hack4Europe 2012 Copenhagen is being coordinated by Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center in cooperation with IT University of Copenhagen. The event will take place on 10 and 11 May 2012 at IT University in Copenhagen.
EUROPEANA INSIDE will enable European cultural heritage institutions to participate in Europeana
EUROPEANA INSIDE, a EU-funded network, is working to transform the ability of European cultural heritage institutions (museums, archives and libraries) to participate in the Europeana platform (europeana.eu).
The EUROPEANA INSIDE network includes 28 partners from 12 EU member states, with additional participants in the US and South Africa.

Archive of Recorded Sound Hidden Collections Project Completed
The Archive of Recorded Sound has completed the processing of four significant collections under the sponsorship of the Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) with funding from the AndrewW. Mellon Foundation which are now ready for use by researchers, students, musicians, and the public.

IASA-TC 04 Second edition - now in Spanish
The Second edition of IASA's landmark publication "TC 04"*, prepared by the IASA Technical Committee, is now available in hard copy translated into Spanish by Enric Giné and Marcos Sueiro and published by the Spanish Association for Music Documentation (AEDOM) :

IASA-TC 03: now in Chinese
IASA's highly acclaimed publication "TC 03"*, prepared by the IASA Technical Committee and available in seven languages, is now also published in Chinese for free download from:

The translations was made by IASA Member Chun zen Huang, assisted by Bixuan Huan, in cooperation with Jiongde He. The editorial work was done by Dietrich Schüller in cooperation with Li Huang.
IASA Travel Grants 2012
Applications for Travel Grants have opened and IASA members are welcome to apply for a travel grant to attend the 2012 IASA Conference in New Delhi, India.

DEADLINE EXTENSION: Call for Papers for the 43rd IASA Annual Conference
The IASA Executive Board has granted an extension for the submissions of proposals for presentations, posters and panel discussions for the 43rd IASA Annual Conference, to be held in New Delhi, India, 7-11 October 2012.
The closing date for submissions has been extended to February 28, 2012
